Ella K, is a tribute to all passionate, bold and emancipated women, who have fought against prejudice and ventured into the unknown. ELLA, the name of the brand, comes from the famous explorer Ella Maillart, who was a sports athlete, artist, travel writer and adventurer. But there are many other bold women to whom the brand refers: Alexandra David-Neel, a Buddhist writer, undertook an extraordinary journey to Lhassa in the 1920s. Amélia Earhart made aviation history as the first woman to fly across the Atlantic in the 1930s. Karen Blixen, who turned her back on her bourgeois upbringing and lifestyle to devote herself to writing after her epic African adventures. These women, and many more, have had a profound influence on Ella K Parfums, giving the brand boldness and a taste for adventure. K comes from my grandfather Kucera (Cesmir), we were Czechoslovakians and he travelled a lot in Africa. When I was a child he told me about his adventures from his travels in Africa and I was completely fascinated. He was also probably the source of my combativeness, he was a very brave and very determined man.
