Azman Perfumes is an Emirati luxury brand founded in Dubai in 2021 by Husen Baba, with the vision of being the purveyor of curated olfactory experiences. Azman, which means “Hours” or “Moments” in Arabic, reinterprets Oud-based perfumes through an innovative approach, where creation is driven by the whimsical emotions of the modern maverick.
Azman conceives fragrances using rare and almost forgotten ingredients of the highest quality from around the world, with a touch of French expertise. Always aware of the "portability" of perfumes, Azman brings a renewed enthusiasm to Oud perfumery. Alongside award-winning perfumers, Azman invents fragrances that are timeless, meaningful and eternal.
Husen Baba
Born to an Indian mother (of Afghan and Portuguese descent) and an Indian father born in a remote village near Goa, Husen had a humble childhood in Mumbai. When Dubai and advertising changed things, he developed an insatiable passion for luxury, art, fashion, culture and travel.
This passion helped him formulate great concepts and win numerous international advertising awards. His career took off and so did he, traveling to New York, London, Tokyo, Paris, Brussels, Zurich, Milan, Prague, exploring the gilded halls frequented by the elite and learning that there is absolutely no substitute for class.
During this time of soul-feeding, he developed a great affinity for perfume. He immersed himself in its science and sought out meetings with the industry revolutionaries he most admired: Roja Dove, Ben Gorham, Victor Wong, and Meo Fusciuni, among others.
Finally, a chance dinner with Frederick Malle brought Husen to Grasse, France, to deepen his knowledge and immerse himself in the art of perfume creation.
As Artistic Director of Azman, Husen now seeks to realize his vision by creating next-generation fragrances that will enchant, disarm and convert even the most inexperienced.
